With Outside Lands just around the corner, all of us here in San Francisco are looking forward to the festival in Golden Gate Park. However dressing for a festival in San Francisco, is very different then most. The afternoons can be warm and sunny, however once the sun goes down, the chill sets in and most festival goers who didn't come prepared find themselves a bit too cold. So we whipped up a great style guide for Outside Lands, and we believe we have something for everyone! Plus did I mention, that every photo in this guide is a Polaroid? That's right, these images are raw, unedited. because honestly nothing is better then a Polaroid picture!
Channeling Byron Bay
For those who love to dance and like to show off some movement, we suggest a fringe dress, a felt hat (surprisingly keeps you more warm then you would think), Tate is wearing a dress from Spell & The Gypsy, a hat from Lovely Bird, and boots from the Frye Company
Kalidescope Daze
We absolutely love a great set, the perfect thing about pants at a festival, is the functionality. You can sit down and just relax in the grass or even climb a tree and watch the show from up above. Sydny is wearing the Instabul Set from Jac Vanek.
Basic Vibes
Ever heard that simplicity is more? Well we certainly have and absolutely love how put together a plain dress can look with the perfect boots and accessories. Don't Tate and Sydny look festival friendly in this "Basic" ensemble. Sydny is wearing a dress by Daftbird, bracelets from Planet Blue, and vintage boots from Rag & Bone. Tate is wearing a dress by Free People, a necklace that was picked up at Bonnarro music festival in Tennesee, and boots by the Frye Company.
Bundled Up Babes
For those festival goers who get miserable when cold this look is for you! Try pairing a great vintage sweaters with some shorts and booties. Both Tate and Sydny's sweaters were picked up at some local thrift stores here in San Francisco (if your unsure where to go, Haight Street and the Mission both hold plentifully thrift stores and vintage boutiques). Shorts are vintage.
Desert Hippie
The world festival instantly brings to mind Coachella, for the those of us who left our hearts at Coachella this past April, we have the perfect look for you. Shorts and a bralette or crop top, with a hat. Be sure to not miss the hat for this look, as it keeps you so much warmer (more tips for when the sun goes down in this look, is to head to the heinkein tent, or get into the crowd in front of main stage for bodywarmth). Tate is wearing a bralette from Pima Doll, shorts found on Haight Street, and vintage Rag & Bone boots.
Casual Chic
Looking for something a bit more revealing then our Bundled Up Babe look, and almost as warm. Try a great loose knit sweater and some shorts, I choose a nude undergarments, but you can spice this look up with a contrasting color. Sydny is wearing a sweater by Pima Doll, vintage shorts, and vintage polo boots.
Woodstock
Anyone love the iconic lyrics "If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair." We have and we love the hippie vibe that a long skirt and bell sleeves gives off. The movement in the skirt and the fun sleeves, are amazing to dance around in. Tate is wearing the Woodstock on the Praire set by Jac Vanek.
Bohemian Sunshine
Harem pants are so much fun, especially with a crop top, talk about sublte sexy. We found this amazing set, paired it with some great fringe boots and a cute hat. This is another look that leaves plenty of room for sitting down on the grass, and just about anything else you can think of. Sydny is wearing the Prague Set by Jac Vanek.
I hope that this guide helps in the search for the perfect Outside lands Festival Outfit, or sprouts some ideas of your own perfect festival attire.
Have a wonderful weekend
