Stranger Furniture X Echo and Air
This collaborative shoot took place in the backdrop of a post-naval facility and also, inside the studio of furniture designer, William Stranger. The Echo and Air pieces were selected from their SS17 collection. This photo series captured the quiet, focused energy intrinsic of the designers. Both designers gravitate toward subtle but impactful designs and emphasizing materials, unexpected details, and a commitment to sustainability. Inspired by the natural world, the otherworld, and the man-made world, the collaboration teeters between the conceptual and the functional, the industrial and the ethereal, the strange and the beautiful.

Stranger Furniture is a design-build studio based in Pasadena, California. Designer, William Stranger has been making furniture since 1987. Influenced by the basic structure of trees, his work celebrates the imperfections in wood and uses them as design opportunities, rather than eliminating them for a uniform appearance.
