What exactly is Listfully?

Imagine a digital wishlist where you can "List" (aka politely ask) for organic skincare, locally made sustainable clothing, candles from a small local boutique (that you could never find online), charitable donations, good deeds, outdoor adventures, cultural events, or even activities that bring people together.

You'll find that while perusing the app Listfully, some of the most fun and sustainable gifts listed are tickets to local music events, brunch at a new vegan cafe, flax seed muffins, a spa day with a non toxic facial, or even breakfast in bed. Listfully reminds us that sometimes the most meaningful gifts are those that come with a story, not wrapping paper!

How did it start?

Just over a year ago Christine Steinsholt, (who happens to be in the midst of a podcast series with shifter.no), founded the all woman run company, Listfully! It all started in 2006 when she moved to Oslo, Norway from the states, and soon after found herself a single mother living in a foreign country. 12 years later, fluently speaking Norwegian, with a passion for communications & sustainability Christine found herself knee deep in the eco-startup called Listfully!

When asked what her inspiration behind Listfully was, Christine spoke of her own experience with being sent gifts across oceans. 

“With my parents being so far away back in the states it can be hard for them to send me gifts. I love shopping at small boutiques, thinking outside the box for gifts, and now with Listfully I can just take a picture of the item, add a link/phone number/email address, and my parents can order it for me!”

One thing is for sure, that Listfully is an app that saves excess shipping waste (cutting down on the carbon footprint of sending the gift), to wasted gifts that never get used (and can't be returned). Even with all of this, some individuals must still be wondering if sending a gift over the internet is not as thoughtful. I assure you that instead of losing the personal touch of gift giving, this app also allows people to share what they need, want, or even their favorite spots around their home city. 

With many organic chefs, eco-fashion models, charities, artists, and health oriented bloggers already swearing by Listfully, the future is bright for this small Norwegian startup.
